June 2022

mon banger officiel pour juin.

It’s just so unfortunate that these small artists don’t get the fame that they actually deserve for their music.

Last month of the Financial Year.

My bulk is going good. I felt a little off in the second half of the month and was struggling a bit with motivation, but I am back to the level I need to be.

I also took a one week break which was soo good. It was really good to disconnect from work and do nothing. Signed a couple new clients. Win Win.

Let’s Goo!!

May 2022

One of those classic songs even though its not that old…

To be really honest May has to be one of the fastest months to pass by. Insanely quick little bugger. As I had predicted, I was tied down to admin tasks but at the same time I also made significant leaps in what I’ve been working in the background for long.

As we officially enter the first winter without a lockdown in two years, my hopes are quite high for this bulking season.

In June I intend to:

  • Enter the 750 pound club. My Deadlifts and Squats have been on point and now dominate the majority of my lifting strength. My Bench Presses were extremely powerful but for some reason I have always been sore to train a heavy Chest day. I need to figure out a program that works for me to train heavier Chest days. Bigger picture is to be somewhere near the 800 pound mark by the end of winter.
  • I also pushed 210 kilos on the inverted leg press. Needless to say I was flipping proud of myself.
  • “Mode Push” in the words of Xavier Marcos Padros (Charles Leclerc’s Radio Engineer). Its now or never. As we move closer to the EOFY, it would be bloody awesome if I could get all my ducks in a row and get this thing off the ground officially.
  • I might also take a small mini break for a weekend, because breaks are important too.

Enough said, Let’s Goo!!

April 2022

Time to play some air drums……

Ahh man. 2 emails, 30 days apart have literally changed my life. Things are looking really really good. Full steam ahead!

April had me bogged down with Admin tasks, but at the same time I grew by a client as well. Not bad for an admin month.

Workouts as usual have been on point. There were a couple of days where I did lack a bit of motivation, but who doesn’t?

For the month of May:

  • I can foresee the admin tasks for May & June, and I intend to keep on top of them. These admin hours now, will save me a lot of trouble in the future (I Hope!!)
  • Another change in the direction with the business, but the focus remains the same.
  • Kill the workouts.

I’ve already said too much. Let’s Go!!

March 2022

A very slow start to the month and after the first week, the month just flew past.

In March I finally secured some office space so that I can focus on getting back on track. I finally decided on the colour scheme and the font family for the website. Progress is a bit slower, but I feel it should start ramping up now.

On the workout front, up until January 2022, I had been ignoring the deadlifts because I have always been wary of my lower back. But I decided early this year that I will have to overcome that fear. My best set was a soft 70 Kilos for 6 counts at the start of March. By the end of the month, I have now pulled 130 Kilos for 4 counts on a solid calorie deficit of over 500 Cals a day. I was so flipping proud of myself. I do believe I should now get a good back belt because to go heavier than 150 its best to have protection.

For the month of April my goal is to keep growing physically and intellectually. Let’s Go !!

February 2022

14 years on and it’s still going strong. Definitely one of my all time top 10 songs. Justine Suissa, Zoe Johnston, Taylor Swift and Adele have the best voice on this planet. Please don’t @ me on this. You won’t win this battle.

Enough about music, let’s talk about my tumultuous February. My mental health has been a constant struggle this month. It just felt like it was me vs me which on normal days I prefer, but there’s more to this. It was Me(my mental health) vs Me(my expectations of me).

I’ve also been stressing about things which are out of my control. One of my first housemates used to tell me – “Most things I worry about don’t even happen.” The first sign to getting better is to accept that there is a problem in the first place.

On a personal front the other significant decision I took this month was:

  • After nearly three and a half years of being a staunch Vegan, I went back to animal products.

I worked on a cool digital transformation project where I had zero project documentation and zero support but someone once said that ‘knowing what to Google is also an art’. I figured out a huge project by just Googling and sussing out the support documentations. I found this amazing thing which would just transfer the customisations from one account to the other, and I can dig in and cater it to different needs saving over 50+ hours of manual customisations.

Project X has now been renamed to what it will actually be called. I did not get the name I actually wanted but I’m happy to get my second best.

Gym sessions are back to normal. I would say that my strength is nearly back after the spicy cough, but I still struggle with heavy Squats. For the first time in the post pandemic era, I smashed a workout EVERYDAY in February. I’m bloody stoked about that.

Simple goal for March, prioritise me over me. Let’s go!!

January 2022

My start to 2022 has been extremely rocky to say the least. The first week was on point – extremely high motivation, great work ethic and all over felt like a very good start. Then came week 2, I tested positive to Covid-19. I still don’t know who gave it to me. It was a straight downhill from there.

Extreme fatigue and lethargy started taking over me. I overcame the virus pretty quickly, but all my motivation was gone. After recovering, I went to the gym on day 8, and the first thought after my first deadlift set was “I hate this. How on Earth have I loved lifting weights for nearly a decade?”  I struggled with motivation all over the board, I did not let my job suffer, but it was just hard to work on my projects.

Putting this crappy start to the year behind me, in Feburary I intend to:

  • Get back into my work ethic and my routine.
  • Gain the strength back that was lost over the course of fighting the virus (Yes, you do loose quite a lot of lifting strength- me personally about 25% lost).
  • Start working on the two previously mentioned projects.

Let’s go!!

December 2021

2021 was the year of rock. According to Spotify, my top 4 songs this year have been by Nickelback. I can’t fathom how people hate Nickelback. Anyways, let’s wrap up 2021. Full disclosure, I bulleted the points for this months on 21st September 2021 whilst doing a quarantine workout.

My mistake last year was setting high expectations for 2021 which started to falter as the months passed. I’ve experienced the highest of the highs and lowest of the lows.

A few things I learned this year:

  • It’s okay to suck at some things and make mistakes. Mistakes move us forward.
  • Learning how to communicate efficiently is  more important for your business than anything else.
  • The one thing certain in life is death.
  • The appearance game can never be won.
  • And finally, having physical strength will literally save your life.

A little reflection on the personal front.

The positives:

  • I finally got this website up and running. I had been dragging my feet for over a year.
  • I am nearly back to my pre-pandemic weight lifting strength.
  • I have clarity for 2 projects that I wish to work on in the first Qtr of  2022. More details coming soon.

The negatives:

  • I bid my final goodbye on a FaceTime call to someone I loved. It just sucks that I could not be there for her and for my family in person, but as the french say “c’est la vie”. Thank you for everything over the past 15 years Behn.
  • I missed my cousins getting married because of the border closures (again). Whilst I could not attend their once in a lifetime(maybe) event, I can’t wait to meet them in person hopefully in 2022 or in 2023.

Keeping my expectations low for 2022, I’ll go out and give it my all every day. I’m just getting started. Let’s go!!

November 2021

Two years since the release of this banger, and I’m still hooked on these beats.

I set out simple goals for the month of November and I accomplished all 3.

Big swings big hits:

  • I successfully overcame my Call of Duty addiction. I am surprised by the determination I showed, not only did I not play the game, I did not even turn on my Playstation.
  • I wanted to finish this website by the end of November. I finished it with 3 days to spare and that gave me 3 extra days for the next project I will be working on.
  • Gyms are back baby! I feel sane again. The first two weeks were all about the catch up, and the last 2 weeks of November were spectacular. My motivation is at an all time high.

Looking forward to December, my highest value action is to work on a new project, let’s call this ‘Project X’ for now. I will eventually unveil the curtain.

Second, I’ve got to push myself to new levels at the gym. I need to find some more time on the weekdays to sneak in some cardio sessions.

Enough talk, let’s get back at it. Let’s go!!

October 2021

Another end to a long and painful lockdown in Victoria. Another bulking season gone, but we keep moving forward.

For the month of November,  my highest value action is to get rid of my Playstation addiction. All I did during the lockdowns was work, Call of Duty and some home workouts. I will endeavour to stay away from my Playstation in November. This Call of Duty addiction needs to end.

Second, I need to finish this website which has been lingering on since May 2020. I have something very special planned for December & January. I need to meet these deadlines.

Third, the Gyms are opening up in the first week of November. Two winters down, I am going to do something the community advises against, bulk in summer. The best part of this is that I started eating clean since mid October, and I’m eating cleaner every week. By the time the gyms open, I should be on my target diet of 6 days with one cheat day.

Let’s end this year strong. Let’s go!!
